<weekend> So I made my voyage to the ISU this weekend. Last summer there really were’nt too many people to visit so I never headed that way. But this summer I’ve made it my goal to see all my super cool ISU friends. First a quick summary of the weekends events and then I will update the official list of people I’ve seen over the summer months!
Nate and I left work at lunch and never returned. We left as early as possible to avoid rush hour and most of what would be a pretty nasty storm. Anyway we arrived around 4ish and luckily Jake was in the apt so I had a place to go. I was kinda worried that I would end up having to wonder around campus until someone arrived to save me! We chilled at the apt for a little and then drove over to the Bone to visit the boss lady Sarah. We hung out there for a few and chatted about work and how fun it is! Little bit of sarcasm there but not 100%. Then headed to the Office Depot and Odd Lots. If you’ve never been to Odd Lots you must go at least once. Jake and I found plenty of bargains that we would have otherwised missed! Moving way on! Quick trip to the Wal-Mart to meet up with Megan and Neil. No trip to ISU is complete without a trip to Wal-Mart. Then back to the apt for some more chilling! Mind you that when I say “chillin” at the apt it was far from. It was a bit on the warm side but I managed! Neil, Jake, Megan, and I then went to see Spidey 2. I had already seen it but they had not so I went again. After the movie we went to the Delta Chi house for about an hour and then again returned to the apt. Saturday Neil and I bummed around looking for random stuff and books. While walking around Borders the Jill called and needed help getting directions to the Hard Rock Cafe. After a few minutes of trying to hack into the Title Sleuth computers and even taking a shot at finding someone in the cafe with a laptop we were forced to call her back with directions later. After that we took a short stop at my aunts house to see them and my grandparents who were also out visiting. Then we headed out to the end of Main to Karen’s for her birthday party. Neil and I passed her house and in the process of turning around we decided it would be fun to take some pics with the corn. Not like we’ve never seen corn, we are both from Illinois after all. It’s just that we both suffer from EAS (easily amused syndrome). We then met the entire Grimes family, jumped on the trampoline, ate some food, played some knock-out and had a fun time.
At about 8 or so my friend Lily said she would be in the Bloomington Normal area within 20 minutes so we headed back to the apt once again to meet her there. We started out by watching Jake cook his canned ham and chicken with Arby sauce and tabasco sauce while making fun of the nasty concoction. Then Lily, Neil, and I decided to head on out to Grady’s for a little mini-golf. After 18 exciting holes she kicked our asses and we headed home! It was getting late so she headed home and Neil and I chilled in the apt discussing stuff that we really didn’t understand. Plenty of that to go around in the past few weeks let me tell you!
Today the three of us bummed around again stopping by Shoe Carnival to visit the working cousins! Then to McDonalds and before we knew it it was 2pm and Nate was at the apt ready to hit the road and head home. </weekend>
